Strengthening Maritime Networks at EMD 2025
At European Maritime Days 2025 in Cork, Ireland, the Maritime Logistics Research Center presented the Baltic Sea e-Nav project at the Policy Area Safe and Sustainability stand. The event provided valuable opportunities for networking and sharing insights on behalf other ongoing projects at the research center.

The European Maritime Days 2025 (EMD) took place in Cork, Ireland on May 21-23, the Maritime logistics research center was represented by Mona Elo and Mikko Vettenranta, as they presented the project Baltic Sea e-Nav at the Policy Area Safe and Sustainability stand in the exhibition hall located at Cork City Hall.
During the first day there was time to set up the stand at Cork City Hall and prepare for the opening of the exhibition hall the following day. The next day started with registration of participants and thereafter the exhibition hall opened, and the reminder of the day was full of good conversations and networking opportunities, during the afternoon Elo and Vettenranta participated in a session hosted by LAUREA University of Applied Sciences on the topic of undersea cable security in the Baltic Sea. The evening offered participants a cocktail networking event at a more relaxed venue.
Though the focus of participation was through the project Baltic Sea e-Nav, there was also time and opportunity to talk about the expertise of the maritime logistics research center and the projects Sustainable Flow and NEMO CEF.
The EMD concluded with a day dedicated to both tending the stand and exploring the exhibition hall further. Elo and Vettenranta took the opportunity to visit other stands, learn about parallel initiatives in the maritime sector, and strengthen connections with various projects and organizations. These final networking moments provided good connections and potential for future collaboration. In the late afternoon, the team began their journey back to Finland, bringing home new contacts and ideas.
