Satamapäivät (“Port Days of Finland”) 2025: Advancing business, electrification and digitalization
This September, the Finnish port community gathers in Kokkola for Satamapäivät 2025, one of the most important annual events for maritime and logistics professionals. The conference takes place on 17–18 September 2025, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers for two days of dialogue, networking, and knowledge exchange.

This year’s Satamapäivät (Port Days of Finland) carries a special significance: it coincides with the 200th anniversary of the Port of Kokkola, a milestone that highlights both the long maritime traditions of Finland and the sector’s forward-looking commitment to innovation and sustainability.
The maritime sector is currently undergoing a significant transformation in various areas, which will have an impact on maritime logistics and port operations in a rapidly evolving business environment.
Spotlight on Collaboration and Safety
One of the highlights of the event will be the panel discussion “Logistista sujuvuutta yhdessä ja turvallisesti” (Logistic Smoothness Together and Safely) scheduled for Thursday, 18 September, 16:00–17:00.
The theme will be introduced by Head of Programs Olli Soininen from Finntraffic VTS and moderated by chief researcher Minna Keinänen-Toivola,from Satakunta University of Applied Sciences/Maritime Logistics Research Center. The panel will explore how collaboration, safety, and technological development can work hand in hand to ensure smooth and secure logistics flows.
